Training Opportunities
Family Psychological Center, P.A. has provided advanced training for graduate level practicum students, predoctoral interns, and postdoctoral residents since 2003. Our internship and postdoctoral programs are APPIC-approved. Trainees develop expertise in conducting a variety of psychological assessments and providing research-based treatment to clients with a range of presenting issues, including depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, disruptive behaviors of childhood and adolescence, learning disorders, personality disorders, relational conflicts, and trauma-related conditions.
Trainees refine their skills in establishing client rapport, conducting effective diagnostic interviews, honing clinical observational skills, and administering and interpreting a range of cognitive, developmental, academic, emotional, and personality assessment instruments. Differential diagnosis and treatment planning are also emphasized in supervisory sessions. Methods of training include weekly supervision, co-therapy, observation, and file review.
Trainees can develop experience with multiple assessment tools, such as the WAIS-IV, WISC-IV, WMS-IV, RBANS, SB5, RIAS, WJ-III ACH, WIAT-II, WRAT4, Bender-II, Conner's CPT-II, CAARS, BASC-2, MMPI-2, MMPI-2-RF, MMPI-A, PAI, MCMI-III, MACI, MPACI, MBMD, Rorschach, Vineland-II, PCL-R, PCL-YV, PSI, SAVRY, VRAG, SORAG, SIRS, and SIMS.
